Innovation Discovery Leader, 3M
Scott currently leads a diverse set of business development and commercialization projects which span a number of 3M businesses in the Canadian market, and facilitates numerous internal and external Strategic Planning workshops. He is also responsible for managing local efforts in tandem with 3M New Ventures (St. Paul, MN) to identify early-stage companies innovating in technology spaces that are relevant to 3M Company’s R&D priorities, as well as leading the local M&A activity for 3M Canada. Scott has been with 3M Canada for more than 27 years and has held a variety of roles including Sales, Marketing, & Business Development. He has had experience in a variety of industries including, Medical, Dental, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Agriculture. Scott is also a Certified Design for Six Sigma Black Belt (Commercialization Specialist), and led a series of projects for our Health Care and Display & Graphics businesses in that capacity.
Scott served on the Board of Directors of Alpine Ontario (2014-2016), the Provincial Sports Organization responsible for ski racing in the province, acts as an Executive in Residence (EIR) for the Ivey Consulting Project initiative for the HBA Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and is an advisor to “The Experts” Program at TechAlliance in London offering guidance to early-stage companies in the local tech eco-system.
Scott holds a B.A. in Administrative & Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
